Day 13--Words of Wisdom

Years ago, I attended Bible college and studied the entire Bible (can you pronounce "Pentateuch? lol). But it wasn't until after I graduated that I began the habit of reading through the Bible every year that I began truly retaining what it says.

Today, I need wisdom and patience. A reminder to be wise and to not be hasty. I put in a call to my mom. She mostly listened, sympathized and advised not acting irrationally. LOL Words of wisdom. And when all else fails, these words never fail to enter my mind when I've just almost given up on certain things.

   Love never gives up.
   Love cares more for others than for self.
   Love doesn't want what it doesn't have.
   Love doesn't strut,
   Doesn't have a swelled head,
   Doesn't force itself on others,
   Isn't always "me first,"
   Doesn't fly off the handle,
   Doesn't keep score of the sins of others,
   Doesn't revel when others grovel,
   Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,
   Puts up with anything,
   Trusts God always,
   Always looks for the best,
   Never looks back,
   But keeps going to the end. (1 Cor. 13:4-7)

Sigh. Well, if I MUST be confronted by clear thinking, I suppose the inspired Word of God will do ;0) Today, I am thankful for wisdom giving me the chance to make some second thoughts.
